One of the known incompatibilities of the Blackboard system with Windows Vista is a problem with the text box editor in
Internet Explorer 7 when using such areas as the Discussion Board, Announcements, or any area of your course site that
might be using a text box. A workaround for this problem would be switching to simple (vs. visual) text box editor.
To do that,
Click the
Tools menu item of your course site
Click
Personal Information
Click
Set Visual Text Box Editor Options
Select
Unavailable, and
click Submit
