Clearing Cache in Internet Explorer 6 and 7

Internet Explorer (IE) and Blackboard Grade Center have a very particular incompatibility problem due to the way that IE caches, or stores, the page in its memory. IE does not always reflect the changes you or a co-instructor may have made to the Grade Center.

The way to fix this problem is to change a setting in IE so that the Grade Center page is refreshed every time you visit that page. In other words, IE looks for a newer version of that page every time you visit it.

Here is how to change that setting in both IE7 and IE6.

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Select Tools in the top menu bar.

3. Select Internet Options.

4. Select General tab.

5. Select Settings in the Browsing History (or Temporary Files in Internet Explorer 6) section in the General tab.

6. Select Every visit to the page under "Check for newer versions of stored pages."

7. Select OK.

8. Select OK again.
